Artist

My name is Margaret Ann Hughes Ellis. I was born in Texas and we first moved to Colorado in 1965 living in Victor. I have always been interested in art. I Started late in life due to raising 9 children. I do oils, watercolor and charcoal. I love to paint on old cabinet doors, furniture and pieces of wood as well as fabric. A lot of my art is from photos from our travels. I give them to my kids and friends.

My husband Billy and I spent the last 35 summers on Devils Head Fire Lookout. During the Fall/Winters we backpacked on the Appalachian Trail, one of my paintings is of the trail in Georgia and another one from New Hampshire. We retired this year. I hope to start painting again soon. I am also a potter and weaver.

About 10 years ago I started doing Genealogy resulting in joining 8 lineage societies. We have our 12year old grandson, Augustus living with us. We have been helping his dad since Augustus was 8 months old.

We live in Parker, but my heart belongs to Sedalia. I love the people as well as the history of the town.
