Pencil Drawing, Water Color and Acrylics. Landscapes, Nature/Animal Portraits
I have always loved Art. For the first time, in a public setting, I displayed some of my art for others to see. My display was nothing special, however, as a part of the July 4th (2019) Sedalia Art Show, in the company of other local Artists, I felt special. That revelation created an energy of conversations and now I am proud to be an original organizer, along with Mary Stiller and Judy Smith of the Sedalia Artists Community. We extended an invitation to the September 14th Sedalia Art Festival (hosted by the Whistle Stop Shop) and have grown from 14 artists to over 30 artists, artisans, crafters, quilters, potters, sculptors, ceramic makers, entrepreneurs, and more. As one artist said, “We have found our people.” We invite other local area artists to join us, for more information, see us on sedaliaartistscommunity.org.
On a personal note, my artistic passion is pencil drawings exploring the world of nature with shapes and light. I enjoy traveling across the United States capturing our land’s beauty with pencil, watercolor and acrylics. My work includes animals, portraits, still life, and the ocean. I am looking forward to becoming a more accomplished artist. My family has been living in the foothills area about nine miles southwest of Sedalia since 1945.
