Christy Ridge Crafts – Photography/Craftsman
Bruce Lee the rocket scientist (CFO UP Aerospace: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDoh8zQDT38) not the karate guy. Photography, rock polishing, jewelry and candles are some of my fun hobbies. In 1967 I built a dark room in my bedroom closet by hanging a slide projector upside down as an enlarger on the clothes hanger pole and started doing black and white photography. I went to college for business at Rochester Institute of Technology where they had a top-notch Photography curriculum (Kodak HQ was in Rochester) and was exposed to great photography and students (plus free dark room use and chemicals). I used to burn candles and hated to throw away the left-over part so I got some molds and started making my own candles. Here in Sedalia, there are great rocks I kept finding in my pasture and in the surrounding area so I got a rock tumbler and started polishing them to find their true beauty and I found myself buying fancy rough rock for even nicer polished stones. Then the pandemic hit and I decided I would make jewelry out of my polished rocks. As an experimenter I put together my own off gird solar power system (2 kW and 400W wind turbine) and use that to power my rock tumblers.
